Film event fundraiser on World Refugee Day 2021

Mid North Coast Refugee Support Group, in collaboration with Wauchope Community Arts Council, will mark World Refugee Day with a screening of ‘Scattered People’, a 58 minute documentary film outlining what happens when Australian musicians go into a Brisbane detention centre to share music.

The film features Missy Higgins, John Butler, Harry James Angus (The Cat Empire), Katie Noonan, Michael Franti, Archie Roach, Dan Sultan and Robbie James, who talk about the power of music, its ability to break through barriers, unite people and create shared experiences.

In addition to the film there will be live music from local musicians Helen Mottee and Deb King.

Please bring cash as the event will fundraise for refugee musicians (and to purchase afternoon tea).

Date: Sunday June 20, 2021. Check-in from 1.30pm; music from 2pm

Tickets ($20) are available from Monday May 31 here.

NB audience limit of 80 people applies. For more on the film or to see the trailer go to www.scatteredpeoplefilm.org/
